Some people feel a little prick as the needles are inserted. But most people feel no pain at all.

It varies from person to person, an acupuncturist may suggest from one or two treatments per week, or monthly visits for maintenance care. It depends on the severity and duration of the problem. Chronic conditions usually take longer to resolve than acute conditions.

Cupping is a therapy to stimulate the flow of Qi and Blood in the superficial muscle layers. Cupping is used for sore muscles, tension, neck pain, and the common cold.

10. What is Gwa Sha?
Gwa Sha is a deep massage therapy in which the skin over a problem area is gently rub or scrape. This technique is used to release muscle tension, tightness and constriction.

11. What is Moxabustion?
Moxabustion is a therapy used to warm the problem areas or the acupuncture points to help speeding up the healing process. An herb called Mugwort (Ai Ye) is used above the skin on the handles of the needles, salt or a thin slice of Ginger.

Tuina is used to relieve muscle pain, tension, inflammation and help recover injuries in a form of deep massage technique used in various parts of the body.
